I've been running Ubuntu and WinXP since Virtualbox 1.4 and it is really a no-frills lightweight hypervisor application. Both Virtual Machines run fine and lightweight. If you've been on the fence thinking whether to give Linux a shot, why not grab VirtualBox and install Ubuntu on it. Its been great :-) VirtualBox 1.6 is great.
